  • Moving tracks up or down… without sliding left to right?

Hello… I need to move a bunch of audio tracks… say from tracks 1,2 and 3… to tracks 10, 11, and 12. When I work In photoshop and other programs, you can usually hold the shift key down to move things in a straight line.

Of course, that doesn’t work in premiere. I am wondering if there is some way to move all of these audio tracks up or down, without them shifting in time, either plus or minus frames. I have tried all sorts of combinations, from zooming in as close as possible, to zooming out really far and moving them, but nothing seems to be accurate. Of course many times I don’t have a problem… but I would say more than half the time, I can’t get it exactly to the “zero” point without spending 30 or 40 seconds fiddling around. And sometimes, after I get it to the zero point, when I release the button on the mouse, the selection moves a couple of frames anyway.

Any thoughts or suggestions.. a keyboard trick? Anyone?

    Thanks a lot…

    Unlink the audio and video
Select the track you want to move
    Hold down the Option key
Hit Arrow Up or Arrow Down

thanks David… and just exactly what would you type to discover this in the help feature? I have searched for countless things in Help… and help is very little help at all.

That being said, thank you very much for your help!

By the way, it is the control key in my Mac system, not the option key. Nevertheless, I probably should have tried both option and control keys before I bothered to post.
