    Hi Craig,

Nothing when it is plugged in either. Looks like a dead circuit board.

    both great suggestions- thanks!
The QT might be too big and stumble but has the HD quality. Maybe Ill export is as a 720p.

    thanks again!

Thanks for all the great responses

I have an PWW EX1 XD Cam w/ 2 XLR inputs with a Sony ECM-673 Mike that I can boom. I have Shure SM 58 that culd be fixed. Its a one subject interview in a controlled sound setting- but not a sound booth.
I also Have a Shure wirelss lava but its a cheapy and created a buzz in the second channel when I tested so Ive eliminated that. Im also interested in lava mikes and wonder about recommendations.

    thanks!

July 17, 2009 at 12:47 am in reply to: XDCAM EX Clip Browser problem

Ive been transfering via XDCAM Transfer into FCP as mov files. It was easier than the BPAV with all the meta files. But- I cant transfer clips that are incomplete, meaning the clips that are in progress when the card switched over during the shoot.
The clips are there in the browser.
What would be the way to get those two clips in? Anybody else have this problem?

    thanks

May 7, 2009 at 7:13 pm in reply to: XDCAM to ProRes422HQ-Timeline or Compressor?

Im having a similar dilemma. Ive made some sequences from my XDCAm in FCP and need to export them as SD and into Adobe PP CS3- on a PC. Im able to export using compressor and import into Adobe CS3 timeline but the clip doesnt have an image after rendering- like it is the wrong frame setting. Audio works.
Im using the DV NTSC Anamorphic setting and the project setting in Adobe is DV widescreen.

Should I be using one of the other compression settings?

    thanks

  • HI

I do have quicktime pro on the PC. The files exported under any number of settings pro res, quicktime, quicktime conversion all play on the PC. They just arent seen in Premiere pro. The files were imported as XDCAM but exported as SD, HD, avi- none work.

    thanks

    Dear Jeff

How do I PNG compress? I do not see that option in FCP.

    Thank you

May 6, 2009 at 3:41 am in reply to: Importing quicktime movies into Adobe error

    Hi Vincent

thank you for the response. I tried to open in AE but it would not open. If I convert to avi then I lose quality to a point of low quality.

There must be a workflow but I havent found it.

    thanks again

May 5, 2009 at 6:29 pm in reply to: Quicktime import failure into CS3 timeline

    Hi Eddie

Thank you for the response. I can play compressed quicktimes exported as H264 on quicktime player but I cant play the fles exported as a quicktime movie. The pop up comes up that a third party component is needed and sends me to the quicktime page.
Are there different FCP export settings I should be using or do I need one of these third party codecs? I cant determiine which one by the descriptions.

Im exporting an HD project as a quicktime and tried compressed as NTSC DV then trying to import into Premiere Pro. When I export as an avi it imports into PP but is pixelated. I dont see the setting Jeff recommends.

Ive asked the FCP export on theat forum but havent gotten a solution.

    thank you

  • I just deleted all clips- maybe that is why the cards look empty but they still have content!

You suggest I should reformat the card in the camera? Ill check that out. Ill be spending a lot of time this weekend on the whole shooting and workflow.

    thank you
