  • Hi Mitch

I did try putting it back into the camera- and it there are no clips, no media but also the card is neartly full. There is something on there. Fotunately I used a second tape cam and can retake the interview. A lesson- but could have been worse. I was almost suspecting a card problem.

  • Im a new uesr and see the problems of lost data. Ive been sucessfully transfering from my cards to my Macbook pro using Clipbrowser with one exception. I think in that case I just tried to copy the whole file using the browser and lost the Mp4.

Yesterday I tried to transfer using the Log and Transfer XDCAm application in FCP. Nothing transfered and now the clips are no longer visible on the card either- although the card is still nearly full. Ive tried to reopen in clipbrowser but there is nothing showing on the card. I hit copy all in Clip browser and it prompts me to copy to the folder but when I hit OK nothing transfers. I looked at teh card on teh camera and it doesnt show me any video clips. This is an interview I would really like to avoid the embarrassement of a re shoot.
    Most important is the audio.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try opening a new project, import the old project into the new project, and open it. DOnt run anything else. Unplug the internet and check what is running in the background using msconfig. Turn off any unneeded plug ins that are RAM eaters. Also- make sure you have about 20% free disc space on your harddrive.

    luck

thanks for responding- you are right i meant hdv. I have to mail the files, they are too big to ftp even individually with the 100 MB limitation. I bought QT pro and loaded it but QT pro wont let me save the files as QT and I cant save as wmv or mov or avi without compression. Im doing this on a pc

im trying to export to the camera as a recording device, it activates in record through cs3 but the timeline doesnt export.

I dowl loaded the latest driver by NVIDIA but the problem occurs still- but only after rendering. I can see the clips in the time line, it plays but all I see in the rendered sequence is pink.

Im running a Matrox Graphics card on a intel core 2 duo 2.66 Ghz, e VGA nVidia GeForce 8800 GTS, 8 meg ram,

I can work in unrendered but Im worried the project will crash.,
