Im trying to import quicktime movies into my CS3 project and I receive an error File Format not approved.
Im going from HD 1920-1080 project in Final Cut Pro into a 720x 480 timeline in CS3.

Ive tried to export as an AVI using quicktime conversion, and can import this into the CS3 timeline but the files will not play video, only audio.
What is the best way to import these files?

    thanks

If you have the disc space, try QuickTime with PNG compression. At 100% quality, it is lossless. You will need to render the files once in Premiere for RT playback.

How well do these files play in the Quicktime player?

    Cheers

    Hi Eddie

Thank you for the response. I can play compressed quicktimes exported as H264 on quicktime player but I cant play the fles exported as a quicktime movie. The pop up comes up that a third party component is needed and sends me to the quicktime page.
Are there different FCP export settings I should be using or do I need one of these third party codecs? I cant determiine which one by the descriptions.

Im exporting an HD project as a quicktime and tried compressed as NTSC DV then trying to import into Premiere Pro. When I export as an avi it imports into PP but is pixelated. I dont see the setting Jeff recommends.

Ive asked the FCP export on theat forum but havent gotten a solution.

    thank you

    Dear Jeff

How do I PNG compress? I do not see that option in FCP.

    Thank you
