Probably but I would like it to not reset the poster frame. Avid and FCP have never reset the poster frames so I was surprised about this. It makes cutting difficult because I need to recognize my shots right away. Do you know of a way for it to not reset?

Hi Tim,
I’m setting the poster frame by landing in the thumbnail on the frame that I want it to be, and then clicking the button representing the function called “Set Poster Frame.”
-
It does not work well. It does create the poster frame, but if I then click an in-point anywhere else on the clip, it changes the poster frame on the icon in the bin. I need to be able to select a poster frame for each clip and have it stay all the time and not change whenever I make in-points.

Which one was it that you found that works for the sequence unlink, please?

Haha maybe that’s the case! It is very frustrating and I can’t figure it out at all. James, I don’t want to convert with another program and bring it in after that because I would like to be able to do the AMA procedure, and then relink later, as this will be a doc with many hours of footage and it would be nice to just do an offline and then upres.
Richard, I am aware of the importance of the differentiation of clips, so I’ve been making sure to add a day and card name to every clip. Thank you for the suggestion.
Anyone? Anyone? I still can’t figure this problem out!

Actually figured out the problem. When you “import” an audio track into Final Cut Pro, if your project is PAL you must first change all the Easy Setup settings to PAL related settings, then turn off and restart the program, then import the audio – that way, the audio clip will be created in FCP with a 25fps rate. I find that annoying because Final Cut’s whole thing is that the clips you use are not project based, in other words they come in to the program as is, and then you adjust them or render if need be – but when putting a piece of 29.97 fps audio into a 25fps timeline, FCP does not tell you there is a mismatch, and does not require a render, so you think everything is fine.

It’s on all timelines that have been opened on his computer.
Yeah I did change that setting but it doesn’t do anything. No names anywhere!

Yeah they’re both FCP 7 – it’s so weird – the project works just fine when it comes back from him, it just doesn’t have the clip names. Also, if a project originates on his computer and he then passes it on to me it’s the same thing.
