Well if no one can decipher that…arent expressions just java or something? You could try to ask over at devshed.

This is just anecdotal, but i was doing something similar for a project, making the background b+w leaving the actors in color, and i had to do it on a mac g5. Well, i managed to get something out of the machine, but not before it did some horrible permanent things to my source footage and produced a number of inexplicable errors in the process. I cant say it was apple’s fault, but ive never ever had the problems on a windows machine that i had on a mac. But you have to remember that windows was designed as a professional OS, you have more control for a reason, so if suddenly the colors dont look right chances are you can find and correct the problem, with a mac you’re at the mercy of apple’s designs.
Anyways thats my 2c, find a windows machine, transfer all your files, and see if the problem solves itself.

This is probably too late for the last poster, but for anyone else whose getting this, i got it too and it turned out that the codec for my video (lagarith in this case) wasnt installed. Must of forgot it after i reinstalled windows.

August 5, 2011 at 6:39 pm in reply to: My roto jumps one frame ahead when exporting entire compI think i figured it out, my footage was shot at 23.980, so everything was at that rate which was fine, but for some reason the keyframes were being converted to 23.796 when exported, even though the exported footage was still 23.980, which caused them to slightly shift to the left, cutting into my character. With some proper documentation, things like this could be avoided, but i guess thats what you get with consumer software.

August 5, 2011 at 4:59 pm in reply to: After Effects CS5.5 missing footage error (Even though it’s there!?!)I ran into a somewhat similar situation last night, i was rendering out my comp and stopped it to make some more changes, and when i did i couldnt even play my source files, in or out of AE, so i found out that for some reason a “upsample when decoding” box got automatically checked that was preventing it from being playable. If theres a softimage codec/settings you can try that.

Like i said, AE judders alot on ram preview, despite ones system. We’re talking about adobe here, not autodesk, what do you expect?

No, the issue is with parenting and comp size. If you have a 100×200 comp in a 97×200 comp or vice versa, then AE will crop 1.5px on either side, shifting the entire thing off by half a pixel causing it to go out of focus. If adobe didnt hire bottom of the barrel employees this sort of thing would never have been a problem, or at least would have produced some sort of warning message, but here we are.

Ah i think i figured out what is causing it. I had nested an even sized comp in an odd sized comp, so AE ended up with .5 pixels on either side (since it adjusts either side together) and shifted the parent comp out of focus. It seems to be ok as long as all comps are all even or odd.
