Solved this. It was a simple matter of moving the Fill left filter above the DeNoiser in the effects stack.

    Thanks

Im actually looking to make the path “The” Emitter. I think I may be able to simply make a very thin mask and using a Layer Emitter

Actually forget the fire part – I just found a preset that I can mess with.

Actually clearing the buffers and restarting did the trick. Im not sure what the 14,000 is referring to? I dont have a layer nearly that big in the comp unless it is the stretch in preset that is triggering that.

    Thanks everybody.

Switching to the Animation codec did the trick.

Hey everybody, Thanks for the replies. I have already tried inverting the alpha channel and that seemed to make no difference.

I posted this question in the AE forum as well and got a response there about rendering with the Avid codec, which I am doing.

I am going to try that suggestion tommorow morning to see if it works. I will post it as the solution if it works.

    Thanks

This same problem happened to me when I was cutting and pasting masks from a resized piece of footage to a solid at comp size and this same fix also takes care of this problem.

No need to apologize… glad you figured it out. And you gave me another point on my checklist of “Stuff that can go wrong”!

You need to turn on your “Continuosly Rasterize” switch for that layer. Its the switch directly to the right of the Hide shy layers switch and looks like a little sun shape.
