I’m trying to find a way to emit particles from a stroke / path. I’m using trapcode particular. I’m not having a lot of luck. Is this possible?

And in a similar vein what is the best way to generate fire?

Basically I am trying to simulate a burning oil well.

    Thanks in advance

I know of an expression you can use to help. If you alt+click on the XY position in particular, pick whip down to the position of the stroke. Hit enter after and now Particular will emit particles from the stroke position. I hope this helps.

    For a particle path…

    1. Create a Point Light called “Motion Path 1”

    2. Align your Particular emiter XY to the Light XY

    3. Animate the light

    4. In Particular go to Physics>Air>Motion Path.. and select “1”.

You should now see your particles moving along the path of the light.

Im actually looking to make the path “The” Emitter. I think I may be able to simply make a very thin mask and using a Layer Emitter
