Keep your devices posts coming. There is a good chance many of these devices will just work, given the way we implemented FW. But, I want to at least try a few common devices that we know are solid.

Hi,
Just curious as to why you are holding out for 11.5? If you purchase right now you will get 11.5 for free. You’ll also get a new version of Boris products (depending on which model you choose.) I’m not a sales dude, but I thought you would want to know.
Take care,
Dave

Hi,
I’ve always said that you purchase the tools that are available to you today to get your work done and to make your business successful. Trying to gauge the future of high tech is tricky business and while the new Mac Pro computers are compelling; there are still many companies that have a lot of work to do to get to the Universal Binary. Those companies, including Media 100 and BorisFX and Adobe have working software for a great computer (PowerMac G5). We will support both platforms (Power Mac and Mac Pro) for years to come so there is no risk in purchasing a PowerMac G5 computer. So, if you need to get work done today purchase a system that has all of the tools available.

Hello everybody,
BorisFX and Media 100 are currently engineering products to support a universal binary and will support the new Intel Mac Pro computers in upcoming releases. We do not have a release date at this time.
Don’t forget BorisFX and Media 100 currently support the PowerMac G5 desktop configurations which can still be purchased through Apple Computer.
I’ll announce more information when it becomes available.

The faster computer and drives you use will make a difference. Also, more RAM will make a difference with performance. You will see better performance playing back uncompressed media than from compressed media. This is because we need more CPU to perform the decompression step. Umcompressed media does not need to do this, of course.

The HDx card is still available for purchase and will work in your current G5. All of your SD programs and media will transfer over as well. The Media 100 AJA OEM Systems require a PCI-e G5.

Warren,
The Media 100 team thanks you for all of your help though the years. It’s been a great partnership for us and I know you have benefited from that Media 100 system from marketing a few years back. Anyway, it was nice to speak to you the other day and good luck with your new hardware purchase (and I hope you will consider the new AJA OEM Media 100 offerings before you make your decision 🙂 ).

Just one more message for this string. Media 100 v.11 is still on track to ship by the end of the month.

Warren,
Contact me off list and we can further discuss your comment about us “Not Caring.” (which isn’t true-of course).

The Media 100 Tune Up Cd is software only. You will get 8.2.3 and the highest model of software that your hardware is capable of. It’s a pretty good deal especially if you are a DV, LE or LX customer.
