Media 100 Board
Posted by Dave Simpson on June 6, 2006 at 5:14 pmHello,
The p6000 board on our Media 100 I system is starting to act up
(Thanks for your help last week Floh) and we want to find a replacement
board until we decide how we should upgrade the system.
First off, does anyone have a used board they would like to sell?
I’ve notice some used items on eBay and wanted to know which boards
besides a p6000 will work in our G4 with Media 100 8.2.3?Any input is appreciated.
Thank You
Dave

So if you get a “new” board you need an encryption code for whatever software version you want to use with this particular board. Buying a board without the appropriate license won

June 6, 2006 at 6:46 pmDave, I have a P6000 board with DV Option in great condition I no longer need. If we can get it to work software/license-wise transferring it over to you, let’s chat. Contact me offline at marshallmediagroup@comcast.net

I had forgotten about that important detail.

June 6, 2006 at 8:26 pmIs the “tune up” sale still running? That would take any Media 100 system and bring it up to the latest software and XR level.
That should work on a board without an encryption key as the upgrade would derive a new code from the serial number of the card?

June 7, 2006 at 10:02 pmMedia 100 also sells refurbished boards. If you have a PCI-E Mac you could consider the new Media 100 SDe system. Sorry for the sales pitch but I couldn’t resist.

June 7, 2006 at 10:38 pmJust out of interest, what’s the price of a refurbished p6000? And are they available in the UK?
P.S. Any news on when the new stuff will start shipping ?

June 8, 2006 at 2:48 pmIsn’t there some limitation on P6000 boards with S/N below a certain number?
