    Hello,

The p6000 board on our Media 100 I system is starting to act up
(Thanks for your help last week Floh) and we want to find a replacement
board until we decide how we should upgrade the system.
First off, does anyone have a used board they would like to sell?
I’ve notice some used items on eBay and wanted to know which boards
    besides a p6000 will work in our G4 with Media 100 8.2.3?

    Any input is appreciated.

    Thank You

    Dave

One thing you should consider: the software version (both the software “level” like XS, XR,… and the software version like V8,…) is tied to the board serial. So if you get a “new” board you need an encryption code for whatever software version you want to use with this particular board. Buying a board without the appropriate license won

Dave, I have a P6000 board with DV Option in great condition I no longer need. If we can get it to work software/license-wise transferring it over to you, let’s chat. Contact me offline at marshallmediagroup@comcast.net

    Thanks Floh,

I had forgotten about that important detail.
I emailed Media 100 to see how we would work
something out if the used card needs to be upgraded.

Is the “tune up” sale still running? That would take any Media 100 system and bring it up to the latest software and XR level.

That should work on a board without an encryption key as the upgrade would derive a new code from the serial number of the card?

    Hi Kieran

I’ll check into that as well.
    Thanks for the input.

Media 100 also sells refurbished boards. If you have a PCI-E Mac you could consider the new Media 100 SDe system. Sorry for the sales pitch but I couldn’t resist.

Just out of interest, what’s the price of a refurbished p6000? And are they available in the UK?

P.S. Any news on when the new stuff will start shipping ?

Isn’t there some limitation on P6000 boards with S/N below a certain number?
