    Hello,

We are close to beta for the Media 100 11.5 release. As you know we will support FireWire with this release. There are a lot of devices out there; and we want to support as many as we can. So, what devices do you use on a daily basis with FireWire connections? Can you post your device(s) here. I’ll take the information and work it into our development plan.

Also, I’ll have an official beta announcement in a few days, but if you are interested in being on the beta program please send an e-mail to : m1******@******00.com. We are expecting to have a large public beta program for this release.

Sony DSR-40 Player/Recorder. And we still have a Sony VX1000 camera somewhere here. Plus, the new Sony HDV decks like the HVRM25U would be very nice, also.

    Hi David,

We use DSR 20/40 machines as well as PD150/170 and the new Z1E.

It would also be nice if Media 100 could interface with firewire equipped DVD Recorders, but I’m guessing that that is probably a tall order.(unless it can already – I haven’t tried)

The sony HDV decks would also be desirable.

    Thanks!

We use several on a regular basis on 2 Media 100i systems and we’re looking forward to adding Media 100 SW when firewire becomes available to compliment our investment in Media 100 HD(x) :

Sony HDV HRV 10MU, Sony DSR-30, JVC SR-VS20 and SR-VS30U.

We’d love to see compatibility with Panasonic DVC-Pro 100 and P2 equipment as well.

We’re looking forward to the release.

[Wayne Abler] “We’d love to see compatibility with Panasonic DVC-Pro 100 and P2 equipment as well. “

When looking at the IBC Press Release you will see that “support for P2 cameras” is also mentioned for the 11.5 release. Seems like your wishes will come true 😉

David C this sounds like an answer to a prayer as far as I am concerned! Although editing in HD I dearly want to master to DVCAM also, both in 16:9 and letterboxed and firewire is the best way into my DV deck which is:

    Sony DSR 20P.

Please, please include that deck in your spec. I hope the version 11.5 will still operate on the old card and the existing Mac Dual G5.

Hi I have a DSR-20P on my desk as I write this. Seems to be working fine so far.

Keep your devices posts coming. There is a good chance many of these devices will just work, given the way we implemented FW. But, I want to at least try a few common devices that we know are solid.

We use Sony DSR 40, Canopus 110, Canon XL1, Panasonic ADCV 100, with our NLE here.

We are very interested by version 11.5 but please add those 3 simple things in this release :

    1. OMF support
    2. A real match frame
    3. JKL navigation

We own two M100i, one M100 HD and plans to add an SW in the near future if it’s possible to monitoring through FW to an external monitor like in FCP.

I have a DSR-45. Let me echo Kieran’s request for support for firewire equipped DVD Recorders.
