Ah, sorry for not providing sufficient information (I hate that).
All of our systems and apps are up to date with latest everything from Apple as of this morning. I don’t know what all the rest of the numbers are but FCP is at 6.0.1

Depends on your source material.
DV is an absoltuely terrible codec, just awful, so if you are downcoverting you will be very sorry. If your source material is lower rez than DV, upconverting introduces its own sets of artifacts. Tell us a bit more aobut what your’e trying to acomplish.

I’ve done this dozens of times, it’s great fun. You can tweak the perspective of the Shatter elements with the Shatter camera.

If you have the money, strongly urge you purchase Total Training’s AE package, any verison since 4.0. His Nibs, Brian Maffittm, spends lots of time on advanced Shatter and the basic funcitons have not changed much. You might find a good deal on an oler used verison of TT’s AE packages. Worth every penny especially if you bill for you AE work.

FTP is not viable. It will take you frfeakin’ days to upload even DV by FTP.
Your client should already know this and it doesn’t sound like they have a clue about much of anything, so, once you get the detials worked out, be prepared to offer to to test the upload just to satisfy their people and then be prepared to overnight the tapes or some disks.

try looking in the FCP help system for FLV.
I see it on my machines using Export wuicktime Conversion. FLV is after 3G, AIFF, Windows Media and FLC but before iPod.

If you don’t have those, you may not have run all fo the OS and ProApp updates.

The same OP has the same rant running over at apple.com. Eventual solution was to reinstall FCP, or so he says.

We’ve run the update on four Macs. No issues so far but neither of out Motion Macs got the promised reactivation of the nudge keyboard feature in Motion.

First question we ask is, “Do you know how to use Bridge?”
Second question we ask is, “Did you install AE correctly?”

If the answer to both is affirmative, the presets are easily visible. You can also jump to them, assuming correct install, from links in the help files and from the View Presets within the Text effect.

You can attempt to create masks or use keying filters to selectively apply luminance reduction and additional processing to the images but, unfortunately, if the pixels are blown out, there is little or no hope of reconstructing the missing data.

Some proprietary raw processors, including Nikon and Adobe, are capable of analyzing the RGB channels separately, extrapolating and rebuilding missing pixels by analyzing data that may remain in one or more of the other channels. Similar products might exist as third party processing but you would want to have the original footage.

In most such cases, the footage must be reshot or the director must find a way to rethink the sytle of his production to compensate for lousy or incompetent photographers.

Sorry, cannot duplicate your issues. All of my AE7, and even some ancient AE5+ and AE6+ projects, seem to work well in CS3. I say “seem to” because everything works when I save to the new format.
Some of my third party plugs have not been updated yet but that always happens.
