Be sure to do an uninstall of the drivers before you install new ones or move around between versions.
If you do not do a proper uninstall things can linger.

Bob,
I am in no hurry at all for drivers. I am just making some plans for my business around the arrival of the RED camera. It will mean upgrading to a NEW mac (from a dual 2.7 that does not work with PROREZ HD)
The MAC that comes with leopard PRE-INSTALLED is going to need new ATTO fiber card (they have Leopard drivers FYI) and a KONA 3 Card (not yet Leopard compatible).
So, in my case Bob, it’s not so much that it’s going to change my deliverables, but the RED does mean a new system. Hence the research.
We’re not all dummies around here Bob, sometimes I ask questions because I need to know and plan around my business in the coming months.

Try to compare the number of actual frames like 42347 vs. 42345.
I think you might be looking at QT tc vs. FCP tc.
what are the actual number of frames. You can view both files in FCP.
There is really no difference between 23.98 and 23.976 contrary to popular belief.

PS; haw does loosing these two frames matter?
Please also make sure you are view NON DROP FRAME tc in both sources.

Double check to make sure that the compressor presets match the footage presets exactly. If that means manually typing in 23.976 in the frame rate field (instead of 23.98) then try that as a test as well.

Create a compressor preset that forces the file to 16×9. This will put the correct information in the QT file to tell it to open up in the correct aspect ratio.

Try using a combination of a compressor and limiter instead.
Normalizing the track usually applies a square curve to the audio which is not always the nicest way to get the best sound out of the track.
