QT movie opens as 4:3, all FCP settings in 16:9
I’m sure there is a simple sol’n but I cant find it. I’m creating MP4 clips in FCP, source video is HDV. After creating the movie, it opens up in QT squished as a 4:3. I dont know if I should be looking in QT or Final Cut to resolve this. Everything according to all settings I detect are consistent with 16:9 or adapting to the native source.

Create a compressor preset that forces the file to 16×9. This will put the correct information in the QT file to tell it to open up in the correct aspect ratio.
