It was recommended to me that I use the normalization gain function to make the make the decibel level more uniform on my audio track. I set the normalization level to -12, broadcast standard, and it reduced the levels in my track to -20 avg dB. How do I properly use the nomalization function..

    thanks

Try using a combination of a compressor and limiter instead.

Normalizing the track usually applies a square curve to the audio which is not always the nicest way to get the best sound out of the track.
