Thanks Rafeal,

I did forget to mention the remove attributes part. Just right click the clip in the timeline, remove the attributes for that clip then copy, select all and paste the NEW attributes into all the clips.

Create a new sequence with the correct aspect ratio settings.

Choose select all from the old sequence.

Paste the clips into the new sequence.

try it two ways; Let FCP prompt you for the sequence settings as well.

There is no need for this kind of negativity. If you don’t like a feature in the software maybe ask a question, but this kind of post is not really helpful to anyone.

If you want to answer a question then just answer it. Nothing gets added with the rest of your opinion.

Look out for this problem I just discovered in an SD sequence.

any cut I make in the the timeline RENAMES the sequence to the name of the FILENAME of the shot I have cut into the sequence.

IE.

Sequence is named CUT 1.

Cut shot number 2343726hdg into the sequence

sequence name changes from CUT 1 to 2343726hdg

Very, very strange stuff.

Never seen that before.

I’m using the KRK Rockit 8 series. Nice true sound with a lot of detail. Great for anything you need to mix for a large room or live event.

I am sure you know that you should not be using the internal harddrive as the media drive. You really should be using an external drive or another internal drive on the MAC PRO.

Also,

You might try using something like FCP rescue to save your preferences and then delete them and restart. This will default FCP back to normal when you restart the program and it should do it’s “profiling for RT Extreme thing when it boots up.

What kind of hard drives are you cutting from. RT performance has a lot to do with Hard drive speed.

I have to agree ANdy.

No one is forcing anyone to buy an upgrade.

Does anyone remember when an AVID system was, I don’t know, $100K????

I do.

299 is actually FREE-99 if you get my point. 🙂
