Hey John,

Yeah, I noticed that about Movie Studio and Vegas Pro. Interesting. I figure they did it that way thinking that more people who did the casual video editing would probably have souped up gfx cards whereas the people who do it more professionally would have the powerful servers with cpu powerhouse going on.

But yeah, I was hoping someone might have some juicy rumors to throw out on what Sony was doing.

Almost sounds like a semi-corrupt wmv file.

Is this a file you rendered or someone else did? If someone else, are you able to get another rendered copy? If not, are you able to convert it to something else using any free program or an online website that does conversions?

If other files work (especially other wmv files) then I’d definitely say it’s an issue with that one wmv file and not Vegas.

There’s a button on the tool bar to “ignore event groupings”. If you enable that, you can shrink the video without the length of the audio being affected.

Give that a go and see if that helps resolve your issue.

One big bonus with Sony Vegas Pro is it can handle just about any format you throw at it.

If you have the camera and video files already, download a copy of Vegas trial, install it, and see.

If you don’t have the camera, find out the details of the formats it saves things in.
