Out of curiosity, anyone know anything about Sony’s plans for future enhancements to Vegas? even rumors?

I’m really interested in if they’re going to add more GPU acceleration to more functions within Vegas (like previews/playback and rendering to more formats than just their plugin).

    Those who know can’t say…

Those who say, don’t really know. 😉

Sometimes Sony tries out new ideas in their Movie Studio version first. Movie Studio got GPU accelerated rendering before the Pro version. Then again, the Pro version got OFX support before the Movie Studio version… so it’s hard to speculate. Only Sony knows what their plans are and they’re not saying.

Sorry Dave, Unfortunately no one here can truly guarantee anything
about Vegas at this point…only the Sony Creative team can.

But all i can say is that they are somewhat pushing Vegas in
    the right direction.

    Hey John,

Yeah, I noticed that about Movie Studio and Vegas Pro. Interesting. I figure they did it that way thinking that more people who did the casual video editing would probably have souped up gfx cards whereas the people who do it more professionally would have the powerful servers with cpu powerhouse going on.

But yeah, I was hoping someone might have some juicy rumors to throw out on what Sony was doing.

Sony is pretty tight lipped about what they are doing although if a major show is near, they will usually demo at the show before the software is available which gives us a glimpse into what to expect. Nothing so far.

LOL! Even though that’s a funny and witty response, it’s not funny. 🙂
