  • Stretch Audio or Video?

Posted by William Van on August 8, 2011 at 5:55 am

I never could find out why the audio tracks recorded with my camera are not the exact same length as the master audio track so I’m experimenting with track stretching.

If I stretch the video tracks to fit the master audio track then the video will be a tad bit longer and slower. If I shrink the master audio track to fit the video then the song will be a tad bit faster and shorter.

Considering that I will have a lot of different video tracks to sync and only one master audio track I guess it would be easier to just shrink the audio track to match the video tracks.

But I would rather my audio track not be shrinked at all because it is at the tempo I want it to be.

Is there a way to group all the video tracks together so that I don’t have to stretch each track separately and can just stretch them all together at the same time?

Also, If I sync the beginning of the song and then stretch or shrink the track so that it syncs at the end of the song does that mean that everything in between should also be in sync?

    Thanks for any replys

There’s a button on the tool bar to “ignore event groupings”. If you enable that, you can shrink the video without the length of the audio being affected.

Give that a go and see if that helps resolve your issue.

    Good luck!

    Yes.
