How did you convert them? We do this everyday with compressor via a droplet and never have a problem.

If you get an internal drive be prepared for a install that takes a bit of time and pulling apart your mac. It’s not simple. but doable.

  • For making Flash and WMV files get Sorenson Squeeze and flip4mac. Squeeze comes with all the settings for compressing both formats. I would go with a desktop unless you really need to edit remotely. If you go with a laptop and the AJA LA you will need an express card external hard drive setup because the AJA LA (firewire products) use all the firewire bandwidth and don’t like to share with any other firewire devices.

ProRes looks great but renders times are much slower than Uncompressed.

We have the Sony 300 which works fine right out of the box and have tested the 500 which work also.

We built our database using Filemaker. I started it and built the basics, then I had a pro come in and add all the bells & whistles. It can be anything you want it to be using Filemaker. We track every job and our tape library with it. We also have several reports built into it which tracks when jobs are finished and contacts the client to let them know the media from their project will be deleted from the hard drives.

I had the same problem and was told that the black balance will mask pixels on the 330 & 350. I black balance every time I use the camera and haven’t had a problem since.
