Hi Wayne,
Simply lock your Video trracks (Shift F4), then select your audio track & holding down the Shift key to constrain the tracks so they move out of sync left or right, pull them down to tracks 2 & 3. IF there is no audio 3 track , one will automaticly be created. Then move the track on track 3 to track to track 1. If the 2 audio tracks are linked you’ll want to unlimk them to make this move. To select all the clips on the track you want to move, press the T key then press the Home key to get to the beginning of the timeline then click on the 1st audio clip on the track. This should select all the audio clips on the track. If not press the T key again & click on the 1st clip again. There are many ways to bring the audio track up to track 1 but probably the easiest is simply to do a copy (Commmand C) then select audio track 1 & do a paste (Command V).

Sounds like you are in wireframe mode. Press the W key on your keyboard once or twice & see if you get your image back.

September 19, 2005 at 7:54 pm in reply to: What can Multi-Clip be used for other than multi-camera?Basicly all the coverage in a scene. Just make all the coverage into a multiclip. You’ll have to do some slip edits once you get the shots into the timeline, but it can worrk out to being somewhat quickerr than bringing the shots individually into the timeline.

With OSX you can add any shortcut Apple has ommited to add providing the item resides in the main drop down menu. ie Import File is Command I, the is a menu item for Import Folder but no KB Shortcut, so I’ve set that item to Shift Command I ao that I can import the folder from the keyboard.

Depends on what you want to do really. Livetype & Motion work very well together. Sometimes you can build something very quickly in Livetype do a save as which makes a tiny 4k file & then continue to work on it in Motion. As this file which is just a pointer to your work in Livetype opens up with its’ alpha channel in tact, you can add to your comp in Motion. Need to make some changes to your Livetype artwork, Command Tab back to your Livetype project, make the changes & save (no need to render) your changes will appear in Motion.
For simply a lower 3rd title, you’ll probably find it easier to do in Livetype, plus you have dozens of texture animations of which you can modify the color opacity size & speed which can form a background that you can composite behind the lower 3rd. Both programs have features that the other lacks, but they work very well together. It’s a toss up a lot of the time in the animated type category as there is a fair bit of redundancy there. But in terms of the other graphic capabilities you’ll want to familiarize yourself on the capabilities of both programs & not limit yourself to simply one or the other.

It seems to be a fairly common problem with QT7 installs. Don’t be surprised if Apple’s remedy doesn’t work. There are many threads on various FCP froums regarding the problem. What worked for me & another users solution can be found in this thread.
It’s fixable, unfortunately, different remidies seem to work for different folks.
