    all my clips suddenly went black

    I have a G5 2.0 with FCP 5.0.4. I’m working with DV footage. everything was fine. I had a problem seeing my clips on an external moniter so I trashed the prefs. It works but my clips in the timeline and viewer are black. Anyone know what happened?

    Sounds like you are in wireframe mode. Press the W key on your keyboard once or twice & see if you get your image back.

    Either that or you accidentally dragged the opacity slider to zero.
