No experience of what you are trying to do but you might try TextWrangler to make the changes you mention – there was a similar xml mod to a Motion file to get projects to open in a later version.

Reference files cannot be used for Vimeo, what do you expect the reference file to ‘reference’ if uploaded to Vimeo without the data files? A reference file ‘references’ the data files on YOUR video storage drive only, for example, if you create a reference video from video data files on your ‘drive A’ then disconnect drive A from your computer your reference file will not play.

Do you get the same ‘flicker’ problem if you use Compressor to make your H.264?

I use a JVC700 with the same settings as yours throughout and have never seen the problem you describe using Compressor (or sometimes Handbrake).

MpegStreamclip is a great program used by just about anyone involved in producing video of any sort but, it’s not been updated since 2008, I just downloaded the latest version (1.9.3b8) to check – Created 20th Aug 2008!

I don’t think you can do this on an HM100 like the old HD100 series, there’s nothing in the manual or on the web that I’ve found – suggest you contact JVC Pro to ask.

I’d suggest a clean install of Mavericks on the iMac, then install FCP7 then copy any data from the MBP to the iMac.

Are you trying to install FCP6 or 7?
I’ve just done a ‘clean’ USB install of Mavericks on a Mac Pro and then an install of an FCP7 update from disks with no problems, it all installed and works fine. If you’re trying to load FCP6 to then update to FCP 7 you only need to install the FCP 7 update and then it’ll ask for the full version 6 serial.

I’ve used this https://appshopper.com/mac/video/tipard-mts-converter on some .mts stuff someone gave me a while back, worked for me, converted to ProRes and dropped into FCP7 with no problem – it’s free on the App store atm.

You need to watch for a ‘down’ arrow when dropping onto the track, not an arrow pointing to the right.

No need to re-shoot! – I had a cameraman give me a card recently from a JVC700 with .mp4 files. You just need to put all the .mp4 files into one folder then use IFFMpeg ($23) to batch convert to ProRes. You’ll also need FFMpeg (free) installed.
