I had a similar problem, just a couple of stills that previously rendered failed, tried everything to fix it even trying to render in sections and export as a SC movie section then re-import, finally solved it by changing the few stills files that failed to render to .png’s.

You say you used ‘just the text tool” – does the problem happen if you use Boris Title 3D or Manifesto?

If it was my project, I’d break it down – ‘cut’ a 3 or 4 minute section out, paste it into a new sequence, add the bug, render – what happens?

On the occasions I’ve used a bug across whole timeline, I’ve exported the full program as self contained (or sometimes even just referenced), re-imported (at matched settings) then added the BoS, then rendered.

Sounds like you want Photomotion to do far more than I’ve ever done with it – why not drop the company an email? – they were most helpful when I had a minor problem.

SlickFX Photomotion works very well inside FCP 6 or 7, my second choice is FotoMagico – there’s a $39 offer on an older version – v3, just out with one of the Mac bundle companies today, but threw the email away earlier – sorry!

LOL! – I posted about this 2 years ago, thought it was me going mad, seems it only affects some systems. Finally traced it to when I used the drop down in the viewer to get a generator but getting a generator from the effects menu then it didn’t then happen. Since upgrading to 10.8.3 (I’m not going any further on my FCP7 system) it’s disappeared and not happened now for several months.

I had to do this a while back, spent ages trying to figure it out then all of a sudden – simple answer, just make your title then drop the ‘blink’ filter on it and set the on/off duration to suit!
