My project is finished but 3 tiny places wont render. 2 are photos. They are large but so are the 367 other photos in this 90 minute film. They are RGB jpegs. They were rendered many times in this film before today. I tried deleting and putting them back in. Same issue. In addition, there are 3 cross dissolve transitions that are doing the same thing. They wont render. Again delete, add, same issue. I have the same photo size with those same transitions throughout the entire film. These are not grouped up either, very random. Any guesses.

FCP has issues with photos that are larger than 4000 pixels on any side. Make them smaller.

The photos are only half that size and like I said, they have rendered in earlier cuts of this same project. Why would a couple of cross dissolve transitions give me “out of memory” messages?

I had a similar problem, just a couple of stills that previously rendered failed, tried everything to fix it even trying to render in sections and export as a SC movie section then re-import, finally solved it by changing the few stills files that failed to render to .png’s.

That’s ridiculous. I did what you suggested and it works fine. Thanks! How!? Why???? I just grabbed the photo in my bin, changed .jpg to .png, dropped the change in the timeline and boom. Renders fine. I have been 2 days trying to get 1 photo out of hundreds that were processed identically to render. Fcp and me are having marital issues. Premiere???

Thanks again for the gold nugget!

Don’t know the answer why, it just worked for me after spending hours trying to fix the problem, glad it worked for you.
