Hi,
Why not select one clip that is switched to camera 1, alt drag to a new track and extend it front and back to the length of the show? Repeat for other camera.

I don’t move projects in fcpx unless I need to consolidate media. The reason is that I usually have a good few projects per job separated into folders such as previews, short edit etc, so moving them through fcpx is one at a time and not very efficient. I just move stuff around in the finder and fcpx picks them up, just don’t do that with final cut open

Considering that the distribution is online it will most likely be a progressive format for delivery. If you are able to shoot at 60p you will get much better slo motion than interlaced as even at 30p you will have 50% speed with no quality loss. I would shoot 720p60 and edit in 30p, and then convert to desired format for output

Hi,
We have been working this way since fcpx was released last year, we have multiple folders in the event folder such as exports, dvd transcodes, documents etc. it works well for us. We used to have extra folders in the project folder also but decided it was getting a bit scattered so decided to move everything to its respective events. That way we only need to worry about one extra folder when archiving.We also use sparse images sometimes which is an even tidier way to consolidate everything related to a project. It works very well

What worked for me in the past was to sort the bin in list view, select all items and copy. Create bin, change to icon view and paste. I also used cut instead of copy, change bin to icon view and paste if you havnt used media on the timeline. It’s messy and needs to be sorted out by adobe but until then…

After you have combined your camera tracks into the multicamera track you can do your edits. When you are finished you can expand the multicam track back to individual tracks. This will create as many video tracks as you have multicam angles and place selected clips on each track. You can then apply any corrections to these tracks and that should sort you out. You can of course also select one of the cameras at event level to correct after the edit. This will then trickle down to any related events on the timeline.

You cannot export a range off the timeline in fcpx at the moment. A good workaround is to create a temp empty project at the same settings and copy the piece you want to export from your main project into the temp one and export. It’s a bit convoluted but works for now.

When it gives you the error can you click on details?
This can give you some idea of what is causing the problem. I had the same thing happen after installing a midi controller. (presonus faderport). I have 32GB ram so I knew it couldn’t be memory.
clicking the details button helped me find the culprit. I uninstalled the drivers and reset midi to default and all is good again.hope that helps
