Sorting in Icon view

There is no ability to sort in Icon view. That view is meant for storyboarding.

We do get a lot of request for adding the ability to sort in Icon view. Feel free to add your own:

I am by no means promising anything, but I have a sneaking suspicion that this may be implemented in the near future, so feature requests are especially important in telling us how you would want it to work.

What worked for me in the past was to sort the bin in list view, select all items and copy. Create bin, change to icon view and paste. I also used cut instead of copy, change bin to icon view and paste if you havnt used media on the timeline. It’s messy and needs to be sorted out by adobe but until then…

Thanks Dave I’ll give it a try.

I am so surprised at some of the things that basically should just be logical and standard. Sometimes you wonder if companies have any editors working to make pro products editor/speed friendly. I shifted over from Avid to FCP and now to CS6. You just want to take the best of all of them and put them into one really great editing application.

2 things I dislike the most about CS6 is that it takes 2-4 more clicks to do each thing which slows everything down compared to other applications especially effects. Just a simple effect like cropping you have to add the effect its not built into motion for cropping – would be nice to have it already there like in FCP.

But to me the worst thing about Premiere Pro CS6 is the way it handles audio. Such a pain to bring in, and or change where you want and how the audio acts. It bothers me enough to consider going elsewhere. We’ll see. Sorry for the vent but was on deadline and the audio was driving me crazy and taking so much time.

Sad, I was hoping for a better answer as well. What you can do is in list view, click in the panel menu, and select thumbnails, then you can enlarge the thumbnails, and also sort by columns in this view.
