Oh, I misunderstood. I thought they were transcoding the shot dailies to 29.97 and editing the show in 29.97, not just outputting the final show for NTSC delivery. I usually let the output card (KONA in my case) do the transcoding of the final show to NTSC or PAL when printing to tape.

Why transcode to 29.97? I always finish my shows as they were shot at 23.976 and then output the final to whatever broadcast specs are required, whether NTSC or PAL. It’s called the universal mastering format.

Oops, I thought the 5.1 version still worked with FCP7.

I can’t find another download link for version 4, however I have archived my old download of AutomaticDuck_ProExportFCP_4.1.dmg

I always use Automatic Duck to bring my FCP sequences into AE. Never had any issues. You can key in AE then.

A 634 x 182 resolution still file is pretty small for a 1920 x 1080 sequence. Is it intended to fill the frame and/or what percentage are you enlarging it?

Why not just export an XML from FCP to AE via automatic duck? No re-compressing involved.

Yup, Dave is correct.

1440×1080 uses non-square pixels and stretches them out to fill 16:9 aspect ratio
