Try the Boris AAF exporter. The Duck was free for a while when the developer dicontinued it to work for another company. But he’s bringing it back, updated, so it’s now no longer available for free. But Boris works…

We’re sending the audio to a sound guy and they no longer work with OMF and he says he needs AAF.

Will the free trial of this allow me to export AAF? Thanks!

Well, AAF export is what it does. But I don’t know if it’s a FULL export, or just a partial one to show you that it works…and that if you want a full export you’ll need to buy the product. I have the Duck…so you’ll have to email them.

Do you know if theres a way to get version 4.0? Or how to work 5.1 with Final Cut Pro 7 as that just seems to be for Final Cut Pro X

Oops, I thought the 5.1 version still worked with FCP7.

I can’t find another download link for version 4, however I have archived my old download of AutomaticDuck_ProExportFCP_4.1.dmg

I can send it to you somehow?

I haven’t done it in years, but you can send your audio to Soundtrack Pro directly from FCP and export an AAF from there.

    hey Daryl,

I’m stuck with the same situation. Need to get an AAF from FCP 7,
can you please share pro export 4 version with me if you still have it?!

    Hi there,

    Thanks for uploading the AutomaticDuck_ProExportFCP_4.1.dmg..
When I open, it says: The document “AutoDuck Pro Export FCP.bundle” could not be opened.
And it automatically starts DVD Studio pro??

I’m in the same boat – need to export AAF from FCP7 so I can work in Avid – for editing (not just sound).

It seems AutomaticDuck_ProExportFCP_4.1.dmg is what we need, but it doesn’t seem to be working for me.. I also tried Boris FX converter, but it also seems to be discontinued.

    Are there any other options?

    Thanks very much!

    G
