drag the top menu bar to the monitor you want the gui.. Your mac tool bar and everything will end up on that monitor.NOTE: The comments above are strictly mine, and may not necessarily

January 18, 2011 at 10:31 pm in reply to: 2 GPU (285) – will the render be faster or only stereo renderThe red rocket will help with the r3d debayer, but I don’t believe it will help with dpx to dpx.
2 285 should speed up the dpx render. I think..
You bring up a great point. Will 2 285’s help if your doing regular 2k dpx grading??

January 18, 2011 at 10:20 pm in reply to: Digital Powerhouse decoder error during each renderI had this same problem and had to run a debug to finish a project. It only happened when I rendered from 4k dpx or r3d to 4k quicktimes. Going to hd or 2k i had no issues.
I am also running on an old obsolete 08 mac.

I was able to do all the speed changes during a red feature i conformed and graded a few months ago.
On a couple shots my client complained of steppy artifacts during speed changes done by the resolve. He opted to do them out of the program as vfx.NOTE: The comments above are strictly mine, and may not necessarily

January 10, 2011 at 10:48 pm in reply to: Cyclone Microsystems’ PCI Express Expansion System.. Anyone running this one?I believe the cubix desktop 4 will take 4 double wide at about the same price point. Not sure who has tested this config or if adding 3 gpu cards will help.

I agree it need more functionality. It’s far from a hardware scope.
pixel count, some kind of blacking measurement tool. The mac resolve doesn’t have all the presets for mattes on the output formatter. I want my 1.85:1, 2.40:1, 2.35:1 , 1.66:1 preset mattes back or a way to measure them with the system.NOTE: The comments above are strictly mine, and may not necessarily

I believe the 4000 is approved for the gui.
My guess is a pair of 285’s for the gpu and the 4000 for the gui should work very well.Let me know how it works. I may replace my 120 for the 4000.

I stand corrected. Per Rohit s last post the 4000 is now the better card for the resolve.
I see the memory bandwidth is:
89.6 GB/s on the 4000
159 GB/s on the 285More cuda cores in the 4000:
256 in the 4000
240 in the 285And as rohit has pointed out double the memory on the 4000.
Rohit will one see a performance gain switching from the 285 to the 4000?
