Wow, That’s a new one. Are you using mp3s for the audio? If so, convert them to 48k waves and try it again.

Of course almost everyone has to use some effects which would slow down the preview frame rate so my workflow is to add needed effects, then turn them off while editing to get the fast preview, or edit first, then add the effects. AVCHD is where it’s going so we might as well get used to it, and the image quality from the TM700 is unbeatable.

It’s an HDV camera right. The quality is the same on MiniDV or mini HDV tape. The trick is to not use tape and capture live with the Intensity card. You will defently see a difference in quality. The downfall with this is you have to have your computer there. I use my cameras mostly in my studio so that’s not an issue for me. But for only 200 dollars, and having the ability to capture HD, SD from almost any source and playback on any of it’s outputs at the same time, you may want to keep it.

The GPU cuda cores only help when rendering AVCHD so that card won’t benefit you with Vegas.
Now with Adobe CS5, it will help with preview framerate. -
Are you sure it worked before the service pack update? BM is very spicific on the x58 or p55 chipset required as well as the NEC USB 3 to run the Shuttle. I have the Shuttle running on the Asus px58d premium board and it runs great after updating the NEC USB 3 chip to the required firmware. If it does work before the service pack update, then let BM know there is another MB chipset that works with the Shuttle.

Cool. If you capture to your internal flash memory on your camera, you may as well use firewire to get the video on you computer as it’s already compressed as .m2t HDV. If you capture via HDMI straight from the imager, live, without capturing to the camera, you bypass the .m2t compression and will get better quality video.

The capture settings and the source have to be the same or you will have what you have. What are you trying to capture from?

I would convert them with Streamclip (free) to something more friendly to Vegas.

Seth, I have done that with several clips. As long as I dont overlap or add effects, just splice and butt them up next to each other, they all will play as you see here. The video you see is just a small section of a larger one with the edges dragged to make it this length. My point is this is 1080 60p and it plays this smooth. Most AVCHD is 1080i, half the information and should be even easier to edit.
