AVCHD with Sony Vegas, watch this video, you’ll be suprised.
This video was shot with a Panasonic TM700 at 1080P60. I took the mative .mts file with a Sony Viao i7 laptop and placed it on the timeline in Vegas Pro 10 with a custom project setting of 1080, progressive, render quality best, de-interlace method none, frame rate 59.94 with the preview window set to Best, full. I see so many posts from people saying you can’t play these files, much less edit them. I’m telling you all you can. Granted this one event without effects and that would of course drop my preview framerate, but no more that with an HDV 1080i on a dual core. This youtube video isn’t even showing you how smooth it really plays as I’m playing it at 60 frames per second and youtube wont play that, but it should still show you it can be edited easily with Vegas Pro 10.
By the way, this TM700 and Sony laptop together cost approx $1700 That’s less than the Sony HVR-A1 alone. An entry level Sony HDV camera like an HVR-A1 cost more than that. I have one and the video quality doesn’t come close to the Tm700. Anyone want to buy a Sony HDV paper weight??
