Have you tried Main Concept AVC/MP4? you can get better quality with that than Sony MP4.

Looks like you have a corrupt clip at 2 hours and 10 min on the timeline. Try removing that clip.

Sony does this to prevent a pop between events. Most wave forms don’t end without some positive or negative voltage in the signal so this would cause a pop when going from one to another. There’s a way to turn it off but I’m not at a Vegas computer to see where to do it.

All laptop sound cards are not good for audio editing, but if you need to use it, headphones would be much better than the speakers.

I can hardly recall ever using the trimmer in Vegas, and I’ve been using it since it came out, first few versions were audio only. It’s so easy to resize on the timelline, I don’t see a need for the trimmer. Alot of other video NLEs can’t drag the edges of an event on the timeline to shorten or increase the length of it, so they use a trimmer. Everyone has there preferences though.

Make sure your project settings match the render
settings. (resolution) -
Did you make a custom project setting as well as a custom render setting? If you want to play back at 60p, you have to do this. Set project settings to this.
I would render as Main Concept AVC/mp4 like this.
Up the bitrate to something close to the original file.
Set to best in the project tab on the render as tab.
You can play it back on a fast computer but that’s about it. -
Load one at a time untill one has an error.

Well if it doesn’t crash with footage not captured from the Shuttle, plug it back to monitor from and see if it crashes. I capture as MJPEG and have no probelms with it. I use Sony vegas mostly.
