Rendering MP4
I feel as if I’m wearing out my welcome on questions here, but I’ve been hit with some unusual (for me) requests from a few clients lately.
I was requested to take a video (in WMV, 1280 X 720, 30) and edit and render in an MP4. I set up in Sony Vegas Pro 8 to render in a custom frame size (1280 X 720), matched the bitrate of the original video and selected “best” in the quality box. I also tried increasing the bitrate with no improvement.
After rendering, the final product seems to “pulsate”. I tried rendering in WMV (which looks great in playback) and then using “Any Video Converter” to change to an MP4. The playback on that looks great, but the audio is significantly out of sink.
Any ideas/help sincerely appreciated.

Have you tried Main Concept AVC/MP4? you can get better quality with that than Sony MP4.

Thanks for responding. I am using the Main Concept selection in rendering and that is where I’m getting these results.

Can you obtain the original videos? WMV is a delivery format and not good for recompressing.

I just got my Vegas, but last week I had a tricky AVI file(s) that I wanted to fix the contrast/colour and join two seperate parts, to then be played on my Xbox360 in .mp4. I had sync proglems when final rendering.
So what I did was add the two files to the timeline and rendered out an single uncompressed AVI file. Then I took that file, did my corrections/edits, and rendered out AVC .mp4 with no problems.
