YouTube converts every video sent in, so the best quality that still fits the file size limit should give you the best results.

You will only need the solid state drives to capture and playback the uncompressed files, due the the fast read/write speed of them. You can copy them to any hard drive for storage and trasporting.

Just drag then close to the “Dock” and they will dock themselves.

These are most likely interlace lines. If your going to play them back on DVD or Bluray, The player will de-interlace it for you. If your wanting to play them back on your PC, then you may want to de-interlace them as you will see them.

Uncompressed what? AVI? Even my i7s won’t playback an HD uncompressed avi at real speed. Try rendering to .mp4 or .wmv and see.

Your machine will be very sluggish with AVCHD, especially if your using the 1080 60p. You will also have to make custom project settings to use 60p. For editing purposes though, I would convert the .mts files to DV widescreen, edit with these as they will edit easy on your machine. Then just before rendering, set your project settings to your custom 1080 60p preset, replace the DV widescreen DV files with the .mts files and render. Right before you go to bed. LOL

Cant you just drag the corners of the gradient event in and out to make it fade, just like a video event?

Yes. With standard text with transparent background and some time keyframing the motion. There’s no motion tracker in Vegas but your examples don’t look to dificult.

I don’t believe Vegas alone can do what your asking, but Boris Continuim may. Look in the Vegas tutorials for Boris video tutorials and look through John Rofranos tutorials on Boris text. He has some very informative videos on various methods of using text.

Some of the Sound Blaster sound cards have an option “What you hear” as an option. Otherwise you need a mixer to record both speakers and a mic. As far as capturing your screen, Vegas alone won’t do it. vegas sees firewire cameras and some web cameras. Blackmagic makes the Intensity card that will cpature from HDMI, component, composite and S video, so you could capture your screen from another computer with one of these cards. Here’s a free screen capture program I found by Googling free screen capture.
