How to record audio for speakers and mic at same time?
Ive been recording videos using Sony vegas pro 9 for ages now but have only been able to record from either the mic or the speakers.
I was wondering, how can you make it so that it records the audio from both the speakers and mic at the same time?I was also wondering how can you use sony vegas as a screen capture instead of a camera?

Some of the Sound Blaster sound cards have an option “What you hear” as an option. Otherwise you need a mixer to record both speakers and a mic. As far as capturing your screen, Vegas alone won’t do it. vegas sees firewire cameras and some web cameras. Blackmagic makes the Intensity card that will cpature from HDMI, component, composite and S video, so you could capture your screen from another computer with one of these cards. Here’s a free screen capture program I found by Googling free screen capture.

There is also a record option called “Stereo Mix” on some chipsets that will record whatever comes out of the speakers. It’s the same as “What-U-Hear” on SoundBlaster cards. You’ll find this in the Volume app in Windows.
