I have dragged an event to another instant of Vegas I thought.

I can select my audio events and ctl,c then place curser on the timeline of another instance of Vegas and ctl,v and they copy.

Pretty much everything but midi tracks and virtual instruments. Vegas was audio for the first few versions. It sees direct x and vst plugins too. If your not using midi tracks, save your money as Vegas works fine as a DAW.

[Yes I see what I am missing] Do you mean HD vs SD? Most all HD cameras capture to a highly compressed format compaired to DV, and will take longer to render. What formats are you using, before and now?

Are you rendering a 16 x 9 event to 4 x 3 aspect ratio? This is called letter box. Try rendering to 16 x 9 or widescreen format.

Does the audio wave show up under the video track on the timeline? Have video clips from this camera worked with audio before with with that computer and version of Vegas?

Soloing a video track will mute all the others. Sure you don’t have one soloed, not in the view? Did you try undo?

Most people are using LCD HDTVs now days, even to watch SD, so if I’m making an SD video, I still use my HDTV.

I have seen this same thing when I have Vegas open, and open a different program. When using another program, my video on the timeline also says “media offline”. But when I click on The Vegas program, the thumb nails show back up. This doesn’t seem to happen with Pro 10 though, I just tried it.

You can also try using Roxio to copy one of the known good CDs and see if you get better results.
