Hi guys, I have had to edit MXF files before and was able to unwrap them with a free app called MXF Desktop. I’ve used it on several computers with no problems, or virus alerts. Here’s the link to the conpany.

If you have another DVD burning app like Nero or Roxio, you don’t need DVD Architect. Most new computers with a DVD burner installed come with some sort of DVD burning app. You can render to NTSC DVD Compliant mpeg 2 from Vegas. Hope this helps. Danny Hays

Have you tried setting your project settings to 1280 x 720? Try the HDV 720 30P setting if you shot at 30 frames per second. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

I use WMVHD or Mpeg 2 HD, AVI in HD wont play on any computer I’ve ever used. AVIHD is for if you need to import to Vegas or other NLE for further editing. Try the WMV 8 mbps HD setting, It’s looks good on HDTVs. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

Try right clicking on it and click copy, then click on the external drive and right click and paste. Hope this helps. Danny

Just save as NTSD DV avi and you’ll be able to inport them into Vegas. Capturing digital either way so the quality will be the same. Danny

Are you placing the text on the same track or the track above. It needs to be on a track above. Hope this helps. Danny Hays

Can you play them with Windows media player? Can Windows movie maker see them? If so convert them to NTSC DV with that, then import to Vegas. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

Hi, Working with HDV files likw m2t or AVCHD are hard on the CPU as threir highly compressed. Just a few tracks and a few effects will lower your preview rate drasticly. Preview, auto is a good place to leave it. Also there is a roll off point on faster cpu’s helping here. We upgraded from a duo core to a faster quad core and saw no real difference it the preview window. But now the render time decreased by almost 400%. You can though, convert your HDV files to Cineform avi, a good lossess codec included with Vegas 7 or later I believe. Vegas works very efficent with this format and it can handle multiple render vith very little loss compared to m2t ot avchd. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

That is a USB capture device. I have heard of some USB devices working with Vegas but not all of them. If it’s not allowing it’s use, them movie maker is another option. There are other capture apps out there but since you have movie maker, why not use it?
