The only surround sound types exported by Vegas that I know of is .ac3 for Dolby 5.1 and Windows media video exports. I could be wrong though.

Capture the native resolution of your camera. Usualy NTSC dv. And it doesn’t matter. Vegas, windows movie maker, it’s a digital transfer. Danny

try setting your project settings to progressive and set type to blend. Then when rendering click custom and on the video tab select None, progressive. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

You can capture them the same way as Hi8. Vegas capture stores the video until you want to use it later.

John is correct, but if you computer is slow, Cineform will work better. Just a few years ago the average computer had a hard time editing HDV and converting to Cineform AVI was a way around that, but most newer machines can handle it fine now days. Danny Hays

I don’t believe so unless someone has made a script for it. You can import them and just drag the right edge left to the 40 sec mark. Danny Hays

Some cameras can record 4 channels of audio but usually their 32k 16 bit. I’ve neveer recorded that way but I would think it would show 2 stereo tracks of audio when you put it in the timeline. Danny Hays

I checked out the link but didn’t see the format of video it records. If it records avi or mpeg2 you should be OK.Otherwise you can find a prograsm to convert it to avi for Vegas. Danny Hays

Thanks Dave, I’ll look into that. Do you leave it interlaced to the delivered video? I personally don’t like the look of interlaced footage on an LCD monitor or TV. But if the edges are cleaner keying interlaced footage, I can key first the convert to progressive. I’ll give it a shot. Danny
