vegas vid edit problem
new to vegas…and …..well….editing in general. I just shot some widescreen footage and saved it as avi to my computer .
if I play it in media player the layout of the footage is correct, when I upload it to Vegas 7, the screen is more narrow and the shot is made narrow in which I look squashed a bit from both sides.
How do I correct this?

Did you set your Project Properties (File > Properties) to widescreen (16:9)? The default is 4:3.
If you plan to use widescreen most of the time, choose a template from the dropdown at the top, check the box labeled “Start all new projects with these settings,” and hit Apply.

Also try right clicking in the preview window and check simulate device aspect ratio. Hope this helps, Danny Hays
