Just hang some greenscreen in your wind shield and take a high rez pic, then key the people in.

I keep all my footage in the original format in case I need to further edit. But just to watch, I render to a high bitrate .WMV file. I have a Panasonic HDC-Tm700 that shoots 1080p60 and That’s the only format I can find that Vegas can render to at 1920 x 1080 60p. I make a custom project settings to accomidate the 60p and a custom render for the same, but up the bitrate to 25k. It’s the best looking video I’ve seen from a camcorder, but it takes a fast (i7) computer to play. Even my i7 wont play back the original .mts files without stuttering, they’re so compressed.

Once I have all the media I’m going to use in my project media tab, I back up with media to a different hard drive than any of the original media is on, then only save the .veg each time I make a change. This way I have a backup of everything in case of a hard drive failure.

AVCHD is clearly better now days in my opinion. I have a Sony HVR-A1 and the Intensity Shuttle, which I had to build a special i7 with a certain chipset motherboard to use, but I just bought the Panasonic HDC-TM700 and Now I will only use the Sony and the Shuttle as a second camera if needed. The TM-700 is amazing! It’s very new as far as the 1080p60 that hardly any NLE’s will support it yet, but low and behold, Sony Vegas pro does as well as CS5 After Effects. I can render a 1920 x 1080 60p 25 mbps .WMV that looks better than any video I’ve seen other than maybe some HD cameras used in pro football. I payed less than half for the panasonic than the Sony too. Ouch!!! But whatta ya gonna do? That’s the way technology goes. If you get a chance check out this TM-700. You will be very suprised on the quality for the price and especially the size. It’s very small, but smokes most every prosumer camera on the market in my opinion.

October 19, 2010 at 5:56 am in reply to: Intensity Pro – Can’t capture from analog inputsI have the Shuttle, and can tell you your source res and framerate must match your capture res and framerate. Gspot is a good free utilty you can use to see everything,”Almost” about a cip.

60p, I had distortion encoding then too. Vegas 9c works with that where 9e is intermettend, at least on my i7.

Also, why convert your AVCHD files? I just bought a Panasonic HDC-T700, 1920 X 1080 60P, ext. .mts and with a custom project set, I can edit this native format, render it out as a custom .WMV file at 1920 x 1080 60p. With an i7, they play back great.

If your want to edit all of them in the same way, just add the effect to the track header. Eack frame can be done by adding an effect to each frame, zoom in far enough and see the effect icon on each frame or clip. If it’s one stream of 100 frames, zoom in till you can see each frame and put the curser between each and hit the “S” key for split. This will make a frame sequence so to speak, 100 seperate frames. Then you can put an effect on each frame. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

I totally agree. The only reason I can think to use the trimmer is to preiew a clip, Pro 9 and later, before putting it on the timeline.

Just watched the video. and the background is blue not green, and her top is blue too. Big mistake there. If you key out the blue, you will key out her top too. You did mean blue didn’t you?
I would love to help you out but if this true, your out of luck I hate to say, unless you don’t mind spending hours rotoscoping.
I’m pretty good a chromakeying, atually won a National greenscreen contest for CMT, Country music television.https://www.youtube.com/user/ErnestDaniels#p/u/7/0tY1lOVQfaQ
