You could try washing it out and boosting the saturation a little. How close you get to the look also depends how good the footage you have is.

Aescripts.com has a layers2grid script that might help. I think they also have some random layer shifting scripts. You could keyframe one X to pop on, then duplicate it however many times you need before applying these scripts. Someone else probably could come up with an expression to do what you need, but I personally would just do it manually.

It seems to me like it should be working. I’ve used multiple keys on a shot with no issues in the past. Can you post a screenshot of your shot and Keylight settings?

  • You can batch transcode all your footage using software like MPEG Streamclip. Then simply move your h264 files into another folder, and move the transcoded clips into the folder that previously held the h264s. You may have to relink one when you first open the project, but it should then automatically reconnect the rest.

If you’re trying to move the person in the mask, technically you will be moving the whole layer. All you should see moving though is the masked person.

You can delete render files from old projects with no problem besides having to re-render them if you ever open the project again. It won’t delete any of your source footage or anything from your timeline.

I am very curious how this will work out. I’d love to see the end result and how it was achieved.

For an inexpensive motorized rig, check out Revolve Camera’s dolly. I’ve used it mainly with DSLRs, but I’ve seen larger rigs on it as well. I’m not sure how accurate the motion is from shot to shot, but I imagine it would be much easier to match than dollying manually.

  • Would Andrew Kramer’s SureTarget plugin help? Apply it to your moving layer and add each null object as a target. You would still have to add a keyframe for when you want the layer to move, but at least the position would be set.

I don’t think so. You’ll probably just have to drag and drop 30 times. At least it’s not a huge number of clips, so it shouldn’t be very tedious.

August 20, 2014 at 1:32 pm in reply to: Premiere Pro CC or CC 2014?

CC 2014 is the latest version that Adobe has released. CC is the original version released with the cloud subscription model (with any updates since then, of course).

CC 2014 still seems to have some bugs in it, so I personally have stuck with the original CC for now. I’m sure some people have used CC 2014 with no issue though, so I guess it depends on if you want to be on the cutting edge and risk some bugs popping up or not.
