If you’re going to be zooming in on them, I would go with TIFF. It can be an uncompressed, lossless format versus JPEG which may have some noticeable quality loss when zoomed in on.

Video CoPilot also has a few tutorials on how to make reflective surfaces too…

Ok, I’ve used Sure Target before. For me, the camera movement is simple, it’s just the wipe that I’m having trouble with.

I’ve looked up videocopilot already with no luck. Would you happen to have a specific link or plug-in name?

    Thanks for the response, btw.

So I obviously read this thread too late. I did change the name of the clips in Final Cut, assuming the basename was still stored somewhere in the clip file or that it would still maintain some sort of connection to it. I guess that is completely wrong? And is manually locating each clip the only option? I have close to 100 clips and no real way to tell what is what now.

I also found that selecting all your keyframes and changing their interpolation to linear got rid of the boomerang. Just select your keyframes, right-click on one, click Keyframe Interpolation, and change the Spatial Interpolation to Linear. This would probably have undesired effects on more complicated animations, but for pulling a camera straight back, it should do fine.

I actually just used the Firestore to make the clips reference files and that seems to help with the playback. Unfortunately, I went from about 40 clips to log, to near 100. Any answer to my original question is still welcome for future reference.

Nobody? I have another project where miniDV tapes were used and it is a pain to capture on someone else’s system then transfer it to mine, especially since not many people have CS4. The camera or deck I use isn’t recognized by Premiere or even iMovie. Just the iSight. I’ve googled for a while with no luck, so any help would be appreciated.
