  • Thank you. I’m being very cautious about the whole thing because we have a very tight turnaround. We lay the video down Thursday night, mix and audio layback is Friday, it’s QC’d Friday night, and it airs Saturday night. As you can see, there is zero room for error.

    Dell Precision Workstation T5400:
    Dual Quad Core Xeon 2.33Ghz
    8GB ECC Buffered RAM
    nVidia Quadro FX 3700
    500GB 7200 RPM System Drive
2TB Internal SATA RAID 0 (2x 7200 RPM Burrered Drives)
    Avid MC6

  • Interesting- I didn’t think you could cross convert with Media composer. We do have Nitris DX boxes.
The real questions is, will there be sync issues if we lay off cross-converted video, and Pro Tools lays off audio afterwards.

    Hi Baz,
I’m experiencing a similar problem with my Multibridge Eclipse, specifically during digital cut. Did you ever find a solution?

Sorry I’m referring to the “Make Multiclip” option in the bin (confusing Avid/FCP nomenclature).
All 8 of my audio clips are in perfect sync so I’d like to make them 1x 8 channel clip for ease of use.

    I Found my error-
When batch exporting QTs form FCP, I neglected to give them extensions. QtChange cannot load the file without the .mov, even though quicktime can load and play the file. Lesson learned.

FYI I plan to batch add the extensions with “A Better Finder Rename”, then remove the extraneous tracks with QTChange. This should be a big enough slap in the face to force me to be more careful with my settings!

I know QT pro can do it, but I need a “batch” option because I have lot’s of files to alter.

This is exactly what I need, but the demo doesn’t seem to work for me. Every file is greyed out, I can’t select it or drag-and-drop. Do you use it? Any ideas? I’ve sent and e-mail to the developer for help.

Doh! Totally missed that “Markers” dropdown. Thank’s for the help.

April 8, 2010 at 6:11 pm in reply to: Convert a 29.97 EDL to 23.98

I’m not sure what settings to use when creating the matchback project.
-What format should I use? Should it match the 29.97 SD EDL I was given, or should it match the 23.98 project that the EDL will go to?
-What should I choose for “Default Film Type”?
    Thanks,

The final solution was to lock the da-88 to video reference and digitize without timecode.

    Thanks for all the help!
