A cut is a cut & a dissolve is a disolve, and not just anybody with a system is a pro.

Thanks for the info. Are you talking about a self contained QT? or do you mean Export using conversion. When I did my first attempt it wanted about 4 to 5 hours o do a forty min show.

Thank you Tom. The guys over in the the big boy forum did not want to answer my simple question. I will put this to use right away. I am finding the transition from avid to be full of little gotchas and wishes. Thanks again for your help.

Thanks Russ, thats pretty much what i thought. I dont know a lot about the net, but i do know it has 25 tb of isilon servers, and has pretty big bandwidth. I share it with a couple of different people. who are also doing pretty intensive things such as managing al the flip factory stuff thats constantly going on. thanks for your help.

I am basically prepping movies for playback on a flie server for a tv network. we pull in movies, segment them, export them as QTs and then flip them in Flipfactory, to mpg2. my experience is that ocasionally i will end up using this double image frame as the frame i cut out to make my segments. sometimes its just convinient that way. Other time i leave them alone and they play fine. I cant see them in playback and they have no effect on anything i do. I think what this is is a pulldown function that is blending frames, and randomly comes across two individual frames (from xfered movie) on iether side of a blended frame (on master).
Theses movies are studio release films from film laid to digi tape.

i have had the same thing, but it does not happen on every cut. That leads me to belive that it is a pulldown type of frame blending thing. I know that sounds wacky. it has not seemed to give me any problems in playback or rendering or anything for that matter. hope this helps.
