O.K…. I think I got this lost in translation. I can go far enough back to say the words CMX3600 or Grass Valley Switcher
(and oh man do I miss those days sometimes.) On my old CMX there were buttons that read “Set In” & “Set Out”.
I could hit said buttons and type in my time code… i.e. Set in 00:00:01:00 and this would set the in point for 1 Sec.

That’s what I am looking to accokplish. Thanks for the Quick response to my Original question. I just wish I hadn’t wasted your time.

Thank you John, I was not trying to use Essential GFX but that did do the trick. Like I said I dont use this title thing very often at all. It seems kind of strange that they wouldnt let you have a physical file or Icon or thingy to tyr and organize. It’s like just knowing your car keys and house keys are in your pocket, but dont worry about putting them on a ring, They will just be there…. Strange. Thanks you tho. That gets me what I need.

Setting it as a preference might do…. But what I ambling for more than anything is a one button touch that does a fit to fill. I have my points. I hit the button and move on. I fiddle with things enough that doing a three button thingy is not bad … but I want that speed. Thanks for the input.

Haha…. Well know that Iv’e shot my fat mouth off. I did notice that the old stuff is 23.9. Uhem . I am going to ask but i think I know the answer. Will that make the thing crash like that. I am in the second of a series of videos and the first video i borrowed footage from seemed not to crash but maybe a few times. No more than I would expect any computer to crash. But the client has all the old movies in 23.9 and the new footage for the new series in 29.97. Everything is Apple ProRes. Varying bit rates. We are trying to edit everything into a 1080 29.97 sequence. Is there an easy way out of what I am afraid the answer is? Know i just have to figure out what i originally looked at that threw off my brain on the old frame rate. I would swear that something said 19.97 ….Somewhere,,,,

I think overall your boss is asking you to polish a turd. I have seen many time the boss come in and shoot on his DV cam and then wonder why it does not look like Avatar. Good luck

I think were trying to pull a rabbit out of a hat here. Its a jump cut. Use it when you deem it usable. Your abundance or lack of clients will help you determine if you are using it correctly. Why does everything need to be studied?

I have only seen this twice in almost 20 years. One editor I used to work with tried for a while to make all his drop shadows go up and to the left??????? I dont think it lasted very long. Now I did knew of one guy thsat refused to do blinking text, although thats not a seen thing. So there ya go. I cant spell worth a damn, does that count?
