What graphics card are you using on your system? You generally can’t work with HD in real time with the 64MB Radeon 9600 XT or 64MB NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 graphics card that come standard.

You can’t use the output of your sound card because the decklink’s clock and your system clock are different. The audio would be out of sync anyway. If quicktime SoundOut is set for “SDI Digital Audio” in the Quicktime control panel, I don’t think you’ll get output through your soundcard.

You need version 6 of Quicktime:

You should be able to run multiple monitors using Nvidia graphics cards with Nview (you can use multiple Nvidia cards to get the number of screens you want) — the Matrox Parhelia cards are not supported.

You could capture via the composite BNC if nothing else. The decklink should control the machine as it’s standard “BVU-800” protocol VTR. There are breakout cables kicking about here in the US, but you could build yourself as the standard betacam components Y: 1.0Vp-p, 75 ohms sync negative R-Y: 0.7Vp-p, 75 ohms B-Y: 0.7Vp-p, 75 ohms are present on the pinouts – just wire these to BNCs and it should work.

Are you using the BKDW-702 SDI output card in the DigiBeta camcorder?

The analog component is HD only. The built in downconversion feature of the 1200 outputs only in “composite” standard definition 480i. There is an optional AJ-YA120AG board that will output SDI standard definition.
