April 12, 2005 at 7:06 pmIts a great format but I wish that FCP has direct support for it. Maybe in FCP 5?

April 13, 2005 at 1:21 pmI’m afraid your right about that. But I would imagine that if Avid could incorporate support that maybe Apple could too. I do know that Sony like to keep all their stuff secret. The actual files on the discs use the MXF file format so if Apple could incorporate this we’ll be set for life. The future is moving to a disc based system so why not start applying it now.

April 14, 2005 at 4:16 pmYou will need to use Telestream’s Flipfactory to convert MXF to a supported codec in FCP for the forseeable future. LiveWire’s Compression Master will also have this ability.
