You’re almost there.
When you have your movies on two tracks, don’t reposition them. Select the top track. In the Controls panel, where you did your repositioning, start looking through the tabs at the top. You’ll see a crop tab.
Now simply click on the padlock to unlock it, and either change the Left or Right crop to 360. Make sure that this keyframe is set to constant.
Play through and both tracks should play happily.
You can simply create a new spline primitive track to create a line down the middle. My brain has shut down, so I can’t think of the more elegant solution at the mo.

Hi Greg,
This should be no problem.
Get your layer and Scale down as desired. Then twirl open the track and select the downstream mask (the top one). Add a Spline Primitive then change its shape to a circle.
Finally add a blur filter to your mask and adjust as desired.
That should be it.

Yes, this effect can be done easily.
Simply place the clips on different tracks, then use the Crop on the top layer. Remember to turn off the lock so that you can set either just the left or right distance. Shazam! There’s your split screen.
Add titles as required and you’re done.

I’d also recommend taking a look at the Boris Continuum Complete plug-in set. Like the Genarts ones you’ve got a free trial period to check them out.
As well as having tons of plug-ins and presets it also gives you cool things like the Pixel Chooser and built-in motion trackers. The pixel chooser is especially useful, allowing you to limit or blend the effects without having to use multiple layers. Very useful indeed.

Hi,
You could use the super automated Witness Protection filter if you have the Boris Continuum plug-ins. Or do it the good old fashioned way – duplicate your video clip to a layer directly above, then apply the garbage matte and gaussian blur filters to that top layer. Keyframe the garbage matte filter to follow your interviewee.
The text one also needs keyframes. Use the Title 3D and animate the Z-position. This will look like the text is coming towards you. Do not be tempted to use the scale in the motion tab – this will not look good.

Take a look over the Pixel Chooser. In it you can choose either to affect a specified area or shape, or create a matte and have it affecting only that. Or both for that matter.
So check that out.

As Jim said, it’s likely a size issue but also make sure you’ve rendered back to the correct Media 100 codec (NTSC/PAL, square/720).
You should check too that you’ve rendered with the correct field order.
