Depending on which version of After Effects you have, you may have Keylight already. Just slip your install CD in again and take a look.
I believe it was V6.0 when Adobe started bundling Keylight (I may be wrong on that though, it could have been V6.5).
With regards to your original question, you may want to try using the Hue/Saturation filter Simply select one of the colour channels and you can then limit the effect just to that colour range. That should work a treat.

Nope. The daughter card was for the P6000, the card that came after the Vincent 601. The 601 needed a firmware flash to do non-square pixel resolutions.

If the program you use understands Pixel Aspect Ratios and you don’t see a problem, then no messing around is needed. If your 16:9 (SD) images look “squished”, then it’s treating your non-square pixels as regular square pixels, and you have to compensate for this (by scaling horizontally).
Uncompressed HD works with square pixels natively, so there’s no need to compensate for the PAR. Note: many compressed “HD” formats, for example HDV and DVCProHD, also use non-square pixels.

Hi Madeleine,
It’s all about Pixel Aspect Ratio (PAR). I’m assuming you’re working in SD, so all frames, whether 4:3 or 16:9, are made of the same number of pixels. These are non-square pixels, as opposed to the square pixels the computer uses.
So, in Photoshop make sure you have your PAR set correctly. or resize your image to the equivalent square pixel size. I only have the PAL sizes on the tip of my tongue but it’s:
Aspect Square pixel equivalent
4:3 768×576
16:9 1024×576I think Photoshop has presets for these sizes.

Just Ctrl-click and save link to disk. You should be able to open it up in Red after that.

Well, give this one a go. It’s a V5.0 BorisFX project, so you should be able to open it.
Looking back on FX v5.0, it’s amazing how much of the application I take for granted that just wasn’t there back then, and my new RED 4 is even sexier. Don’t quite know where I was going with that.

I’ve quickly stuck a couple of demo projects together for you and you can get them here.
One’s just the simple split down the middle. The other repositions one layer so that you can see the same part of the video on each side of the screen.
Just replace with your video and all should be well. All I’ve done really is the cropping I mentioned above.
I didn’t know which version of Red you’re using so they’re V3 projects.
